Job purpose:

The Business Intelligence Team at Rocket X are well integrated with all our teams across the business. Their purpose is to use systems to extract and analyse data from across all parts of the business and interpret this to help identify trends, correlations and help make real data driven change. This is a great opportunity to be able to have wide exposure to data analysis in lots of different areas of the business. 


Role responsibilities:


  • Your primary focus will be in looking at data, analysing it in various ways, being a bit curious about it and drawing up assumptions and conclusions. 

  • To do this to the best of your ability you will integrate across the business to understand things that might impact the data. 

  • With strengths in data analysis and business knowledge you’ll communicate to those key stakeholders for whichever area or data you’re focusing on and help influence change. 

  • They’ll be monthly reports you will have to produce but by doing so you’ll be able to understand trends perhaps based on seasonality as an example. 

  • If any of the reports need to change, recommend it, see what you can do to make it better. 

  • You will find creative and innovative ways to present your findings to ensure it’s clear, concise using different data visualisation tools, maybe some spreadsheets depending on what is best. 

  • We have a range of KPIs that are used across the business to help us analyse how effective we are across all the different areas of Rocket X. You’ll use BI tools to analyse all this data.

  • Use Business Intelligence tools and to analyse data on a range of company KPIs

  • Work across teams to provide support to data analysis functions and assist with analysis of data.


Skills and attributes:

  • You would either have a degree in a relevant subject or a worked within a similar role for a year or so.

  • You will enjoy interrogating data and enjoy looking for trends, anomalies and interpret what this means and what to change.

  • You will love learning and be always looking for the next thing you can perfect your knowledge in. 

  • You’ll have experience in using spreadsheets to manipulate and present data.

  • Previous experience in a programming language (e.g. SQL, R, Python) is desirable but not essential.

  • You’ll be regularly collaborating with lots of different teams across the business so you’ll be friendly and approachable.
